I have a 2000 E-450 super duty mini motor home. My front brakes have started to squeal real bad. I pulled off the wheels and checked the rotors. They are worn a little (45,000 miles). The pads seem ok on both sides. But they still squeal when stopping. No grinding just a squeal. A repair shop tells me this is normal for the Motor home because it isn't driven enough. I sure don't want to pull off the rotors, looks like a big job. Has anyone heard of this?
It would be possible I would think. With light use the pads can become glazed. However it should be possible to get anti-squeel shims to fit between the caliper piston and the pad. This may help.
