Selling Truck?????

Well I have almost decided to put my truck on Craigslist to see if there is any intrest. After my little vacation it may be on the block.

Looking to get something a little bigger with probably a diesel. Hopefully a F350 crew cab. Time will tell I guess.

Yea they are pretty nice looking trucks. I will probably look for something like a 00-04. In my case allot depends on the price.

That always sucks when ya gotta sell a truck!

Youll love a diesel, be careful of the 03-05 6 liter diesels. There are some out there that have a ton of problems with teh turbos, head gaskets and injectors. Find a good one and it will be great!

If you get a 7.3 youll love it, but its not problem free. The auto trannies are weak untill they are upgraded, and you do have to do a few mods to get the same performance as a 6 liter (although it doesnt take too much)

Either way Zip, do your research and youll get a sweet truck!

I know. I don't really want to sell it and may end up keeping it. Pulling my 5th wheel has the 5.4 working pretty hard. I am leaning towards the 7.3 for the reasons you posted above.

My current truck was kind of bought on a spur of the moment thing. Two things that I really want are a crew cab and I would love to find something with the standard tranny. Even if I don't find one the research and the search are always allot of fun.

You got it Sheldon.

I was surfing around on Autotrader this afternoon. Found a 03 Lariat Crewcab. I think the guy said 137,000kms although it may have been 197,000kms. Their asking price is 19995.00. Might be one to check out.

Well Sheldon it's a 6.0. A little leary of that but it may be a good one. Problem is the more I look at pictures of it the more I seem to like it. Does need a leveling kit to start with but is a pretty nice looking truck.

I'll know by the end of the week if I am going to trade or sell mine before I buy something.

Yeah I didnt think it was a 7.3 at that price! Its funny how the 6 liters are less money in those years.

Anyways yeah just make sure ya check it out, and make sure ya get a good one! Youll love the power over your 5.4 for sure.

I love diesels

Well I got an Oasis done by one of the fellows in the 6.0 forum. It had a few odds and ends. It has also had some major stuff. Turbo replaced in 04, fuel pump replaced in 04 and the engine replaced in 05 cause of some brass found in the oil pan. It is an Alberta truck.

That was the problem I had with my truck. I was looking for a 2 wheel drive but I thought all along that "boy if I was going to get a 4X4 that is the one" . So of course when my leads petered out on the 2 wheelers I bought a 4X4. Of course I had been going around saying "Oh no, I won't get a 4X4 , I don't need one" laugh is on me but I love my truck and am glad I did not follow my original plan.

Heh call me crazy, but I would do somethinking about that one. Since the engine has been replaced, it MIGHT be ok.

Personally i wouldnt chance that one, but you might miss a great deal too.

At this point I don't know. Newer engine and turbo. Is the newer engine free of the early 6.0 bugs? It has the 5R100 tranny. 173kms on the truck.

Who knows I'm still thinking on this one. Financing is ok so it's weather I want to take the leap or not.

And the clock ticks on................

The trannies are supposed to be pretty good. Although we had an 03 with a 6 liter as a shop truck and we had a few trannies go in it, and I have a buddy that had his tranny blow on him in his 05. So I am personally undecided if they are as good as the hype about them. They are way more advanced then a 4r100 (i think thats what the 7.3 liter tranny is).

The newer engine, depending on build date, might be free from te bugs. Its kind of a gamble. My buddy that had his tranny blow, his truck is an 05 and he had all the typical 6 liter problems happen to him at once. He wrecked the turbo, head gaskets, and injectors, as well as blw his tranny just about at all the same time while pulling his 5th wheel camper. His truck was stock and not modded too.

I know its probably not reasonable, but the best way to go would be with an 06-07. There was an article that Morris, our chapter leader, posted about the 07 6 liter supposedly being more reliable then the 7.3. Now I cant see it, and untill there gets to be some proven miles I wont believe it. Hoping for it though!

Anyways man not trying to steer ya from the truck cause it MIGHT be ok. Just be careful. If you go ask this in the 6 liter forums, you will probably get the whole 6 liter is a great engine I havent had a problem on mine blah blah blah, and if it busts on you, you can spend a buncha money to get it "bulletproof".

If it is a good engine, you will have a great truck!

Out of curiosity, how much you selling your truck for?
