strait headers???

im a bit currious as to the damage that can be done to running strait headers...

when i was talking to my dad about it, he said it can screew up my valves? but when i was talking to a guy at the muffler shop... he told me, he runs strait headers on his race car, on warm days, and dosent worry about it screewing anything up...

so i desided to come to the y-block experts to help me out a bit...

[just so every one knows, its a 292 in a f-100... running stubies from reds headers, for truck that are not lowered]

Damage to the valves can happen if not running with any exhaust manifolds or possibly running exhaust manifolds without any lead pipes. Open headers are long enough that cool air coming back and warping the valves is typically not a consideration.
