Be aware the 460 will require a different tranny, it's a big block so your 5-speed won't directly bolt up(I don't know if the bellhousings are interhangable), and it's not likely it is built to widthstand the TQ a 460 makes anyway. There's lots more power hiding in that 5.8 you have too, 400ft/lbs TQ and 350HP is attainable with a better set of heads and intake on the 351w... with other supporting parts of course. There is a hugh aftermarket full of upgrades for the Windsor motors, you can pretty much do anyting you want in carbed or EFI versions. Parts for the 351c are much more limited, if you want to keep EFI you'll probably have to modify a carb intake, and there is no real performance advantage considering the heads availabe for the Windsor motors these days.

Smile

thats what i was thinking also. i really like the windsor but was wanting another opinion. what upgrades could i do without hurting my fuel mileage too much, or increasing my compression cause i dont want to buy high octane fuel. if higher compression is the way to go ill do it but if its possible to avoid it id like to.

You could install the cam I have and a set of longtube headers, that will really wake the motor up and it's completely compatable with your stock computer. Milage on my motor is 13 city and 17+ hwy, what are you getting?

The motor you have has the base cam in it, the later trucks got a bigger cam and produce noticably better power.. and that's with the stock exhaust system. The cam I have is the Crane 444232, it was a common upgrade for the Lightning. Combined with the longtubes you'll have a whole new motor.. powerwise. Just so you know, my combo fully utilizes the stock injectors, if you make the motor flow well enough to need bigger injectors you will be opening an expensive can of worms.
