Where is the Fuel Filter on my 03 F-250 5.4L
I am wanting to replace my fuel filter on my truck to maybe help it run a little better and to help with my mpg. Just wanted to know where it was and how easy it is to change out. Plus I noticed that AEM makes High Performance Fuel Filters, what do they do over stock and does anyone have one on there truck??

Fuel filter is underneath the truck below the drivers side door tucked up in the frame. It is easy to change, only takes like 10 mins. Just do a search here on the forums and you will find detailed instructions. Personally I just put another motorcraft filter on. Dont see much room for improvement on a fuel filter.

Fuel Filter
The filter is located inside the frame rail under the driver's seat. You need a special tool to get the forward fuel line off of the filter. The procedure is as follows:
Shut the truck off and wait a while for the fuel pressure to fall, or remove the fuel pump relay and attempt to start the truck. Disengage the safety clip and insert the tool into the forward fuel line. Push the line rearward while pushing the tool forward to disengage the lock fingers and then slide the line off of the filter. Pull the filter and rear line as a unit out of the spring loaded retainer on the frame. Push the blue (or whatever color yours is) rectangular release button on the rear line, and then pull the filter out of the line. You can't pull the rear line off of the filter while it is in its' retainer on the frame--the line is not flexible enough--you must pull the filter from the line. To install the new one, coat the 2 nipples on the new filter with motor oil or ATF and reverse the above procedure. As you push the filter into the rear line and as you push the front line onto the new filter, you should hear both the locking mechanisms click. Be sure to reinstall the saftey clip back onto the front line.
If you're doing this on the ground, be prepared to get soaked in gas, or put some kind of pan on your chest to catch it all. Protect your eyes. GOOD LUCK !!!
