hi, anyone ever had trouble with their valve guides? this ranger occassionally emits blue smoke and dealer has checked compression, doesn't offer any solutions to problem.
I have driven Fords all of my life. Every one of them has done (does) this after they start racking up the miles. If it is just a few puffs when you first start up from cold, I wouldn't worry. I don't usually sweat the small stuff.
Try this, park nose uphill and see
if it improves, let it idle for a
minute or so before shutting it off...
If it doesn't smoke as badly on restart
it's the valve stem seals...
