Trans Go update

I installed a transgo shift kit awhile back and didnt notice any differnce. I started with the recomended settings. The problem is you must take apart the trans to make adjustments. I did put a drain in my pan, so that made it ezer to do.

In any case, I drilled the holes out .010" bigger as recomended. I still cant tell any differnce. I'm not really looking for a big differnce. I just want the tranny to last. I was told this would help. But if I cant tell, Is it doing anything?

Another question. The fluied was very dark. Last time I didnt change the torque converter. (This time I did) So maybe it was leftover from then. What do you guys think.

Also for you guys that did the transgo. When you have the valve body off, did you scrape the gasket off the plate that was there? I left mine, but it wasnt in the best shape. Transgo didnt give me another.

I put one in my AOD and it made a huge difference. It shifts with authority and I even did the less extreme spring option. But to be honest I have forgot if a gasket came with it because it has been a while. I remember drilling a couple holes and installing a brass rod in the valve body, did you do that?

There were alot of springs to change, but there was no rods. I did everything they said in the instructions.

this is therebuild kit and shift kit i bought...This auction is for one of our custom TEC brand Automatic transmission overhaul kits. Transmission Exchange Co. pioneered The automatic transmission overhaul kit which includes all gaskets, seals, o-rings, lip seals, sealing rings, lined and steel plates (kits are also available less steels). The very popular Super Kit also includes filter, front band, popular bushings and modulator(when applicable) is what you are bidding on here. Plus, you get five out of print baseball cards. This heavy-duty direct clutch pack (please inquire if you have a 91-92 AOD as this might take a slightly different update). This is a stock # AMK MRK7600A-UT kit for an AOD automatic overdrive transmission in a late-1983 and up RWD Ford car or truck (You can tell you have an AOD because it has 14 pan bolts). Retails for $245. Our starting bid here is well below that. This is a dutch auction, so each high bid receives one kit. It is always a good idea to replace the torque converter and flush the cooling system when you rebuild an automatic transmission. Please see our ebay store for good deals on converters and protection kits. For more information on this overhaul kit or other transmissions and parts, email at spencer@txchange.com or call 800-776-1191. Will ship anywhere in the continental US via UPS for $12.50. USPS extra. International please email for shipping costs. Payment can be made using money order, check (must clear before shipping) or credit card (visa, mastercard, discover, or american express).

You're bidding on a NEW Transgo P/N AOD-HP shift kit. This kit has two stages of performance from Heavy Duty for mild shifts to Full Race for tire burning shifts. With either stage, you'll be able to hold all gears to any RPM, including full throttle shifts into overdrive. This kit also includes the optional Hi-Rev Governor kit, which will allow your transmission to have higher RPM automatic shifts. Along with the increased performance from you vehicle, you will also see an increase in the life of your transmission due to the reduced slippage. This is the most complete shift kit available and definitely the most reputable. All parts and gaskets are included, no special tools required. Retail price is $149. Buyer to pay insured shipping of $9. Please note that this shift kit will work in any AOD from 1980 through 1993. Please look at my other auctions and new eBay Store for great deals on torque converters and other transmission parts. I have a few nice upgrades that can only be found in my Store. Purchase a shift kit and torque converter, get free shipping on the shift kit.....got them on ebay

Maybe your clutches are worn out so they are not grabbing like they should?

That could be. Sometimes my trans shifts perfect. Other times (espesialy when its hot out) it wont shift in to second unless I manually do it. (it wont do it in drive) Then when I shift to dirve, it will shift from second in to netral. So I shift back to second and back to drive and it will go to third. (and OD if needed) I was told this is dirt in the flued. It did this before I installed the shift kit also. Now that I changed the flued and filter twice, you would think I got the dirt out. But Its the same.

E4od

Helirich- I put one of the Baumann kits in mine years ago (93 w/E4OD). I have been very satisfied. I have had a transgo installed in my brothers Mustang gt / AOD. I did not like the HS gov portion of the kit because it caused the light throttle upshift to happen at too high rpm for the street. Tired of tires barking (never thought that would happen) when trying to pull into moving traffic at 1/2 - 3/4 throttle, especially if a pooolice is beside you!

Since we are all electronic shift, including gear selection, I wonder if somehow your MLPS is not adjusted right or malfuncitioning. All it is, is a bunch of resistors that tell the PCM what gear you want to be in. Might cause that mess of different gears engaging. I cant remember, but there may be gaskets under the different VB's. I will check my manual.

I did not flush the lines. I have checked the leval when hot. It could be the electronics because it seems to do it when the weather is hot, not the trans. Meaning it will malfucntion when I just started the truck on a hot day. But it wont do it on a cold day even after hard driving.
