me and my buddy are gonna race very soon. he has a 93 honda prelude vtec with cold air intake, exhaust and some ignition work done. granted, his car stock does 0-60 in 6.6 sec and 1/4 mile time is 15 flat. what are my chance in racing him with my 88' f150 in a quarter mile. any suggestion?? help!
I have a 88 bronco 302 AOD with 3.55's and no mods. I run 16.30 at 78mph. if you put just some minor stuff on your truck you should do pretty good. i raced a tuned civic and did pretty well. just depends on how bad you wanna beat him put some NOS on your truck and you'll kick ***.
If thats a SRV 'lude your going to have trouble. Thats about 200ishh hp to the flywheel, with his cheap *** mods maybe 185whp in a car that weighs considerably less then your truck.
What mods are done to your truck? If your stock you can get a really good look at his rear bumper =)
Now, I have seen heavily modified trucks around here spank even some nice turbo hondas. But those are slammed s-10's with 350's and there is a 76 chevy with god knows what but the rear tires have to be 2' wide!!! (I live near a GM plant alot of chevy owners)
Anyway,
Best of luck.
I agree about not racing for slips.
Race for gas money, it costs about 30$ to fill his car with premium =)
