Typical age of Ranger drivers
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 26-Apr-02 AT 05:29 PM (EST)]21 with an '89 std cab 2.3l. Its my daily until my '62 f100's frame up resto is finished. '62 Stepside with a 223-6... The only non stock things I'm adding are disc brakes, a/c (too hot here in texas) and a stereo in an overhead console. I'm keeping the original radio in the dash for appearances.

24 1/2, just picked-up my 99 Ford Ranger used from a Ford Dealer. Traded in a small Hyundai Accent (small cars are the only things I've ever driven. It's a Sport edition, so it's get the wider tires, flareside, came with the bedliner, A/C (didn't really want it), AM/FM/TAPE, regular cab. 4 bagger. I am definitely running out to Home "Cheap"o for 4 60lb. sandbags before winter hits. The odd thing is that my first car was rear-wheel, then I had 2 (including the Accent) that were front-wheel. IMHO, I spun out more with my FW than the RW. And I live in Upstate NY, so I am kinda afraid of this winter. But I ain't gonna worry about it now. I still got a whole summer to go through.
I love how this truck handles. I am actually glad I got the stick instead of the automatic. It shifts so much easier than any other car I've driven. And the ride is smoother than my car I traded in. It's also got a LOT more HP and has much better pickup for a 4 bagger than I would have expected.
One question I had was if it was practical for me to put a trailer hitch on or not. I don't know if I'm gonna be towing anything, but I sure wouldn't mind the option of having it there when I need it.
Only thing I gotta get used to is not pressing the clutch down all the way to shift....I am so used to practially pounding on the clutch in my old car that this thing sometimes makes me rev up more than I would like. I do wish I had a Tach installed tho. It would certainly help when I have my music blaring and can't hear the engine. My old car used to shake when it was time to shift...LOL.

I'm 29 with the Wilderness Blue 2001 Edge Ranger. 3.0L V6 with all the trimmings and goodies. Recently installed the alarm system and the Bright blue Indiglo guages by SR Motorsports. Second truck I have had in the last 10 years, been all Celica's and Camaro's since then. Drives really well and is just right for what I needed.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-Aug-02 AT 04:40 PM (EST)]I bought my first new Ranger in 1988. I drove it for 11 years before selling it with 146,000 on the trip meter. All I ever did to it was maintenence. That little 2.0 4 baner is still running.
Currently I am driving my dad's old 1990 Ranger to keep some miles off my '02 Super Duty. It has 144,000 at the moment on it's 2.9 V6.
Still going strong. I plan to keep driving this one. Hell the only reason I sold my'88 was to upgrade to the XLT creature comforts.
When my SuperDuty is paid off I want to get another new Ranger.
Dang, forgot to answer the question. I am 39!
