I am about to make my first batch hopefully this weekend. I hear about always do test batchs before you make a big batch so you don't make a bad batch. How do you know if you made a bad batch or not?

to the board, but I had been home brewing the Bio for the past few months.
What I found is that you will know when you start your wash.
A heavy emulsion is an indicator that you were off on either your titration or the amount of methoxide. I too test batch first.
i bought a drywash system so i don't have to use water. as long as i have a good seperation, i should be allright, correct? anyone else use drywash systems
according to biodiesel community forum and other guru's on this site, should test for excess H2O first and then do a titration to determine the ammount of NaOH or KOH that you are going to use. too much and you may get soap, too little and you will not get a complete reaction.

Nice!
The more I read about the dry wash, the more appealing it sounds. Do you have any links that may help clue me in more about the dry wash?
