You`ve heard of the French Flatheads but now recently discovered is the Italian Flathead with 32 valves and twin cams. Rumored to be a secret project during WW2 and designed by Ferrari. The allied invasion interrupted the production run but there was a small number of these manufactured although they are now exceedingly rare.

Guys, Mario isn`t joking. That engine weighed 1500 pounds and put out around 500 hp at 2600 rpms. Don`t believe me? Just check out your V8 TIMES sept/oct 1994 issue, page 57. Theres a picture of a guy putting in the twin cam assembly. The engines were put into tanks during the war. What an engine!

How many cubes did that motor have? Surely it is a unique design. No real limit on valve size on a block like that.
