propane powered straight 6

i am 17 and just getting my first truck on the road 1983 f150 4x4 7 inch lift on 35" and up in canada our gas is going to hit 2.00 a liter in the summer so i thought about propane?good or bad

$1200 +/- conversion, less if you find one at the scrappy.

70% of your power, give or take.

To keep power, rebuild engine for propane with all the right parts and very high compression.

I like to turn posts like this into a lecture about how at 17 you ought to be figuring out college or some secondary education/training that will bring up above the poverty level incomewise before you are 24....

Of course you are, but a gas hog 4x4 isn't going to help.

Check your yellow pages for propane sellers, they sell or know someone who does sell the conversions.

Go to Fordsix Performance :: Index. Do a search for "Craigwell". He is a chap up in NS that has converted to propane...lots of posts about it.

And then try here Raso Enterprises - Alternative Energy Systems. Poke around on that site...I think you might find what you want under alternative fuel.
