Flathead diesel?

Poking around an old junkyard, I found an oooolllddd military generator witha flathead diesel- NO JOKE! I spent about an hour checking this thing out, it was for real a diesel, no carb, rotary style fuel pump, but no id of any kind. Anybody know about these, and should I go back and get it?

Flathead diesel?

it's a genset for a shop-probably not used for the last 30 yrs or so- it's a small, 4cyl job. I am going to go back up there next week, and see if I can get it.

Flathead diesel?

It's a military generator from WWI, and unless someone walks in there with their pockets on fire, he won't let it go.
