UPDATE 1700 5/21/08
Rockin' Good News! Truck has been found! It's in Houston at a Salvage yard near Almeda Genoa and North Freeway.
David doesn't know what shape it is in. He's on his way to the yard to see if he can see it as they closed at 4:30.
Will know more tonight after he calls.
David wants me to pass on his sincere thanks to everyone for spreading the word so quickly and their concern.

Update.....
For those of ya'll that have posted on forums ya'll can copy and paste this.
I went and saw the truck this morning. The exterior is relatively fine except for the rear 2008 bumper that was damaged by the tow truck driver using the wrong tow truck for the job. All of my tools that were in the tool box, approximately $800 worth, are gone. They left all my straps and shackles for pulling people out. Now for the interior. One word, TRASHED! They gained entry through the driver door handle then used the same flat head screw driver to punch my ignition and get it to start. They tore the dash off to get the in dash screen and all the wires out, all the components along with the TV Tuner and my Ipod. They ripped up the carpet on the passenger side to get the TV Tuner and brain for the in dash screen. The took the 15 inch flip down monitor off of the head liner and pulled my custom speaker box from behind the seat. They ripped plastic pieces out from all over the place so they could rip wires loose. My glove box was emptied and my center console was completely gone through and scattered. Most of ya'll know I had a collection of Koozie's from different events in my driver's door. Well, all of them are gone. EVEN MY PINK KOOZIE! YES, they stole my pink koozie. For those that don't understand that part it is a long story. The insurance adjuster is going to look at it and take pics this afternoon and then we are going to go from there. I appreciate all ya'll getting word out about my truck being stolen and keeping your eyes open. For those that want to know where it was found, it was found at 4011 Old Galveston Road. That is what the police report stated. My adjuster knows everything that I saw and we will talk again when he sees it. I have been up since 4:30 yesterday afternoon and am now going to get some sleep. Thanks again ya'll.

Even if your insurance company decides to fix your truck it will never be the same. Personally, I would try and get them to total it and just buy another truck. I know this from 1st hand experience.
You might also want to consider the Early Detection Lo-Jack now. The minute it starts without the key-pass you're notified that your vehicle is being moved. I have it on all my vehicles and it does give me a little piece of mind.

That's where my money is...this one was a tip-off from someone at the hotel. Which begs the question: How many other vehicles have been stolen from this hotel and when did the thefts begin at the hotel...answer those questions and I bet you are down to the folks responsible.

Sorry to hear about the truck. Worst part is knowing that they probably abused it jumping curbs or who knows what.
This gets me thinking about a simple hidden switch somewhere to kill the ignition (starter solenoid or ???). A low-tech approach, but it would at the minimum cost the dirtbags some time trying to get it started.
My deuce & a half doesn't even have an ignition switch, just a pushbutton for the starter & a mechanical injection pump. I put a toggle switch up under the dash in series with the starter pushbutton so it can't start unless the switch is flipped. I'm not in a high crime area or anything, but you never know what can happen. This is as much for safety as anything, as I take it to shows every summer & kids like to climb up in it & check it out.
Mother-in-law got her Durango stolen in Phoenix. They found it not far from the Mexican border OUT OF GAS. That's the only reason she got it back. We always joked after that to never have enough gas in the tank to get to Mexico.
