compression!

my dad and brother tell me that 9.5:1 is THE limit of 87 octane gas and where a daily driver is most efficient; true or false?

if true, where would i get a rebuild kit with 9.5:1 pistons?

what will be the best camshaft for a daily driver? clifford?

would headers work well?

i am sorry for the questions but i want to get a little more mileage out of this 300 i have (low compression truck engine).

thanks for your advice/comments

9.5 seems to work well.

As for parts, check some of the build here for sources and what works.

Headers are good. EFI manifolds, (2 3-into-1 manifolds) are ALMOST as good.

Check out this build:
