that'll knock you're gas bill down. we got rid of the wifes expedition and got a little v6 escape. mileage around 22 on the highway. expy could get 18, so not much difference. too late now, owe ford for the next 5 years.
I'll never own a new vehicle. The return on them isn't worth it. Plus I'm already in debt up to my eyeballs, and I dont wanna ever go down that road again... I'll stick to buying used, thanks.
i think of used as buying someone elses headache. they got rid of it for a reason. probably to buy a newer one. lol. but this isn't to say i only buy new. i've only bought 2 new vehicles in my life. the escape and my 05 f150 was brand new, everything else was used. and i feel for ya about the debt problem. been there and still doing it.
Thanks Guys... It'll up it more, when I get it painted. I'm also going to make a custom gate out of wood. tailgates are hard to come by for pickups. I have some nice pine 2x8's that'll make a heavy duty gate. Then get my brother to carve a blue oval into the gate
05 Super: I've been lucky, all the used vehicles I have bought, I only ever bought one total lemon, and it was a Chevy (go figure).. I bought a 91 Chevy Sprint (Suzuki) it was my second one, and it was a complete piece of junk. I donated it to Pick a Part..
My F150, I bought it last Oct for $500. I've put about another $500 into it. I figure if I ask $3000/$3500 on Craigslist, and will go as low as $2500, I'm still $1500 up. Which in my books isnt a bad profit margine.
I have a spare tailgate from the 73-79 years, if you find the hardware it is doable to bolt it up to your newer truck, I don't need it anymore. I know I saw a post of how to do it a couple years ago on this site...
