Advanced is the bomb, but lower budget/quality/price WWW.bumperboyz.com. I know their prices are good. I have heard both positive and negative about them. Oh, and they DO have those rare chrome 1955 grilles. (made from Unobtainium, I understand..)

I went by Advanced Plating with all my emblems and it was way cheaper to buy new than to have them re-chromed. Sure is pretty though.

A place here in La Mesa quoted me $250 - 300 for a 56 grille. With the cost of copper skyrocketing I am not sure if that quote is still good today though.

I had Advanced Plating do my F-3 emblems since they are not reproduced. It was a great job but VERY expensive. I paid over $100 to have the two emblems re-plated. I dropped them off at a show where they gave me an estimate of $90 and a time estimate of about 6-8 weeks. Three months later the cost was $100 and then they hit me with $13.95 in "shipping and handling" charges when they sent them back. There's no way those emblems should have cost more than a few dollars to ship. I'll look elsewhere next time...

Try this place. they are primarily doing Harley stuff but they do also do car and truck stuff. I don't know what they charge but I think my son knows the guy who owns the place and he says they are reasonable, what ever that means. Good luck...

Another thing to remember is to ask them if there is anything you can do to prep the item for re-chrome and maybe that will help reduce the cost slightly. Another option that you may want to check are some of the industrial chromers that do hydraulic ram shafts and the like. If you tell them you situation and have it prepared for them they may even give you a break on price because it is something different and I have found that if you tell people what you are working on they seem to express a genuine interest and do what they can to help out. I dunno maybe its a Canadian thing....

Here are a couple of links, but look in your yellow pages fro industrial coatings in your area and you may find something closer.

Dave, you didn't leave a place to try.

I know a few guys in our maverick world that have used Tri-City in Tenn. mentioned above and were very happy with the results. I know you all are thinking maverick? but these are very nice mavericks with the small bumpers.
