Hello,
I've got a 292 with poor oil circulation to the passenger side head.
We just got this truck and don't plan on tearing it down immediately.
Isn't there a temporary fix involving an "external oil line kit" for this problem? I know it is ugly but it would get it going again.

I've seen these kits on e-Bay for bidding. Try searches for y-block and I think you'll eventually find one. Maybe someone else knows where you could buy one. I think you could make one if you try!

Thanks for the advice. I am already looking on eBay.
I am also trying heavier weight oil to raise the oil pressure too.
(20W-50). I get approx. 20psi at idle when hot. Wish I had more

You might want to consider pinching shut the rocker arm overflow tubes to increase the oil pressure within the rocker arm shaft. This will deliver more oil to the rocker arms. Refer to Eickman's book "Ford Y-Block", page 36.

As you are probably aware, the Y-block's Achille's Heel was insufficient lubrication in the rocker arm assemblies. I have seen an overhead oiler kit for sale recently on E-bay. Good luck.

The outside oiler kit included a hollow stud in the location of the original stud for the valve cover. A copper tube was plumbed from the oil gallery on the drivers side of the block using a T with the oil pressure sender.

I disassembled a 292 about 18 months ago that had one of these kits installed. If you want I can look thru my parts to see if I still have them. It could keep you going until you tear down for a rebuild.

Thanks for the offer, but I picked up a kit off of eBay last weekend. The kit was complete and is already in service. Piece of cake to install. I now have an optional oil leak installed !
