injector rebuild question.

truck is running not-so-good and i think i have narrowed it down to the injector o-rings. would it be worth it/ a good idea to replace only the outer o-rings? if so, could anybody point me in the right direction to but the replacement o-rings?

thank you guys,
brian

set of 8 on ebay right now
eBay Motors: Set of eight powerstroke 7.3 7.3L injector oring kits (item 350060296984 end time May-24-08 15:01:13 PDT)

If you haven't pulled the injectors before let me know and I'll scan my full directions and send them to you

also I'm not sure the outer ones have a hole lot to do with running characteristics, some leak and you get a bit of blue smoke at startup. May be looking at an injector rebuild? I changed my outer O-rings from blue smoke issue. No more blue smoke but truck still runs the same,

helifixer, thats a pretty good price you found.

robb, i pulled them on my buddy's truck before and i helped him rebuild two of them. do your directions include rebuilding them, or just pulling? thanks for the link for the set on ebay, good price!

also, would the DIY kit for stage 1's minus getting the pistons be the same thing? the diy kit comes with the armature screws and a injector tool aswell. don't know if the armature screws are worth replacing tho.

Just pulling them and replacing external O-rings and GP's. Not rebuilding them. I haven't had my actual injectors apart, so I can't answer your other question. wait for a few more guys to chime in. DIY-Injectors.com Give him a ring. I'm sure he could sell you a kit thats minus stage 1's.

The DIY Stage 1 kit without the pistons is a rebuild kit for all 8 injectors. The piston is what makes the stage 1 majic. The armature screws are worth replacing because the stock one is funky and strips easily, but not nessisary. And I would HIGHLY recomend a parts pack because if you do all 8, you are bound to break atleast 1 dowl pin. And it's well worth the money to have the extra setup in case. Hope that helps.

yes it did thank you rubber duck. i just want to rebuild them to stock, with the price of fuel i can't see dumping extra fuel just to go faster, eventhough i would like to. i just want to get the truck running right.
