2005 PSD Automatic 37k on truck. Never any problems.
Engine light came on when wife was driving in mountains, pulling a grade. No trailer or anything, just a lear cap for load. Probably around elevation of 4k feet.
3 Cold starts did not clear it.
Bought a INNOVA 3130 and in came up as code P0299 Turbo/Super Charger Under boost. Cleared it.
Any ideas what this means, besides the obvious. No mods whatsoever to this truck. Think I should take it in? Keep an eye on it?
After some research it seems that when others have gotten this they get a new turbo, or told to keep an eye on it, hmmmmmm
OK a little additional information. The car has probably been drive all of 3k for the last 6 months. GUess it could be a sticky vane. I guess if it comes up again into the shop.
My truck came up with the same code once on a long grade when the truck was about 6 months old, It didn't cause any problem and I never had that code happen again so I wouln't get too worried unless it keeps happening.

Mine just came up with the code a couple of weeks ago, at 16k, drove it like H*** wot from every light and up the on ramps to the freeway, seems to have helped code has not come back and my turbo farts a less.

There is no code for overboost and I believe that the underboost code comes up with a overboost condition. It might be a good time to install a boost guage. Since you were climbing a grade,I would guess that it was a overboost condition. My turbo was overboosting to 40psi and set the same code. Turbo replaced. Vanes stuck.
