It's really no different than having to fill up in Mexico to get home is it? I would think it's OK. Does your 04 need the low sulphur mix? Not sure if that's what they're selling over there.

yes you can do it. friend of mine says you can only bring in enough for personal use. they brought me 2 55 gal drums because I bought something for them and I told them I would take the fuel in exchange. havent tried it yet but he has been runnin it in his 03 dodge without problems.

Again this will depend on the crossing point, 1 guy told me at another you can bring back a tank full no extra. you might go down with a 20 gallon drum and see if they will let ya bring it back, ask 1st.

Harbor freight has tuthill brand 13GPM 12v pumps on sale, on line only $209 + S+H, taxes if they have store in your state. I need to get a filter assembly now!

If I still lived in San Diego I would have a huge transfer tank and would only be running that . We were in Mex alot when we lived there and were never asked about fuel when coming across. The only bad part would be the wait in the lines to come back in.

Soon to add 4" turbo back, Guages, and SCT with some tunes, and of course I would bet new headgaskets and studs when the truck tells me it needs them.

It makes great sense being that i am so close to mexico to do it, but I would like to know if it is legal to bring back 100 gallons in a tank that is in the bed of my truck across the border. do you think they will even ask about it, tell them i was just down there for some tacos.

mgood go for it as I said my friend goes over every couple of weeks, plus I work with another guy that goes to agua prieta every week to visit his family and he takes his diesel and fuels it up with an aux tank.

like I said the guy brings fuel back in 2 55 gal barrels and I got 2 so far

The drums would be obvious, so I would buy the biggest transfer tank and fill it.

Hey guys, popped up from the 7.3 forum cause this thread caught my attention on the way in. I agree with Layed Out and natehanson, its ridiculous. We had a similar thread a couple weeks ago from an oil spokesperson that was more or less saying that they know Americans are dumb enough to pay for it. Will try to pull the thread up and show you all the interview. Sorry for intruding, it's just a very interesting topic.

And it's sad its true too. There's no way i could ever give up my truck, but this is getting ridiculous. Bio doesn't sound too bad right now though either. Only bad thing is i know bio is hard on the injection system, and our forum's (sounds like we're rivals, sorry off topic... anyway) our forum has been talking about running two-stroke oil, ATF, and all kinds of crap, so how bad can bio be

Well I was talkin to my friend who has been getting the fuel in mex, seems another guy was going over a couple times a week, several barrels in the truck. They got him for all kinds of stuff as he was not using it for personal consumption. My friends wife just brought back 2 more drums, 1 of which is for me 1 for him. she has been crossing 1x every couple of weeks and still has no problems. If ya gonna go, dont be greedy seems to be the word. couple times a month couple barrels plus in the tank seems to be ok.

Oh as to how is the price differential possible, gotta remember their fuel is nationalized by the gov't, ours is "free market"! Truman nationalized the steel mills in the 50's, we might need to nationalize the oil guys in the 2000's, thats the only other option to get the prices down. also need a policy of only 1 blend summer, 1 blend winter for all gas diesel etc. right now each section has its own blends causing problems so they claim, so lets standardize everything 1 blend for all per season.
