Chevy 6.2D is starting off with a positive reputation.
I put 2 gallons of gas in the front tank, would only sputter. I put 2 gallons in rear tank, still didn't run. I don't know if the tank switcher is working but the gage shows 1/8 tank when the switch is set to front and it is pegged when it's set to rear. I'm going to replace the fuel filter and if that doesn't fix it it's going to have to sit for a while.

I removed the fuel filter. When you turn the key on the inline pump runs but no fuel comes out. About 1 in 10 times it will squirt out fuel. So maybe the dash switch isn't letting the in-tank pump run, as I don't hear either of them run. It doesn't matter what tank it's set on. However, the gage reads different for each tank so maybe my dash switch is good? What else do I check? Power to in-tank pump? Also, I can't find any wires on the tank selector valve.

I believe the selector valve switches when it gets pressure from one in tank pump or the other.
When you say that the in tank pumps are not running, you really need to get under there and check to see if you have power. If you have power and it's not running, you have a bad pump. If you have no power at the connector, it's an electrical issue, maybe the selector switch.
You need to track this down, and it doesn't cost you any more money.

I will see if either pump gets power. It still could be the dash switch, but since the gage reads different on each tank it makes me think it works. I will check it out tonight.
