Mine just started doing the same thing a few days ago. I did a search and came up with nothing. One post pointed towards CLUTCH PACKS? But no discription on what they were or how much $$ to fix.

Cool Rear Axle

I have been hereing this noise for a few weeks and it seem like it getting worst. But every time i take it back to the dealer thay can't find any thing.
I had a ticking noise in the motor and thay said thay did test and it pasted. I told the tech i still here the ticking. Ford enformed me that thier is nothing wrong with the motor. But I'm going to take it back in this week and get real answers. I'm a little Pissed off at this ford dealer.

Schroel- your ticking is probably the cam phasers. Search the forum and you'll find several threads about it. Unless it's ticking like a diesel, the dealer probably isn't going to do anything. Yes, it can be annoying, but it doesn't effect the engine.

As to the axles, there was an issue with the clutch packs. It causes a shudder when you are accelerating and turning, like at an intersection. I was lucky enough to have mine changed under warranty. There is a tsb for this shudder issue. I'm not sure if your "noke" is the same issue or not.

Ha Ha, do a search on clutch packs (2 words not 1) you get lots of info. Sounds like lots are having the same problem with temp fixes after replacement.
