Anyone Looking for a 51-52 in Western Canada

I was just at a co-workers place the other day and he has one sitting up high and dry and the body appears to be in excellent shape and is complete. He wants $1000.00 for it. If I had the room to store it till this one is done I'd buy it myself (buck teeth aside).

Let me know because he is planning on sending it to the scrap yard within the next month. If you are interested I'll get out there and take some pictures. But like I said it is complete (glass, gages, drive train, spare flat head, seat, even the hub caps are there) and very little rust or body damage. It is a 3/4 ton, maybe an express bed?

It would be a crime to send that thing to the scap-yard, stored high and dry? good shape? ..We need pic's Kusto!

If we have to , maybe we can start an "Old Truck Rescue" ..LoL

I don't understand, this guy wants a $1,000 for it but is going to send it for scrap if it's not sold within a month. My question is what scrap dealers going to put out that much money, $200 seems more reasonable

Thats the same thing I run into. I want $2000 or its going to the scrap yard Monday.
I email the guy and say hey I will give you $400 now and haul it off...nothing.
Tops you might get $300 for scrap.
Its about $200 a ton here.

I found a rear end a guy had in a Ford Ranger, it was loaded on the trailer.
I said how much for the rear? I even told him I would take it out.
$150 !!! It went into the scrap yard. I dont understand thinking like that.

Color me curious

Kusto;

I'm interested but not at the price; let me know if and when he makes his decision. It would seem a shame not to save the ol' truck from scrapyard.

bobj49f2 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
That's not unusual, I've seen it happen many times. I really like the guys who would rather smash something than sell it at a reasonable price. I've also heard a few of those stories.

Hopefully, a reasonable compromise can be worked out, I too would hate see old, useable iron go to China via the scrapper. There's way too much of it already that has gone that way.

OK, I apologize and it seems I neglected to mention it was $1000 OBO and it included a home built trailer to haul it all home on....sorry I seem to have missed the finer details.

If no one wants it for certain, I will not let it go to scrap. I will get a hold of him after the long weekend and see if I can get some pictures and maybe get his price down a little. He would likely take $750 for the lot. He may be inflating the price slightly because he knows how much I make per day.

IMHO the 8' express bed alone would be worth that in it's current condition to the right buyer.

Tom - I'll post some pictures as soon as I can get a hold of him.

Again I apologize for the premature posting.
