Panel Fan only works on High?

I have a 98 F-150 4x4 with A/C. And I noticed the other day that my fan only works on High and the air isn't really that cold. Anybody know what causes this and how to fix it? Thanks.

projectSHO89 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.projectSHO89 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
The fan speed is likely due to a failed blower motor resistor pack.

The air temperature is a different issue, ie, bad knob, busted blend door, or an A/C system that is not working.

Yup.. 90% of the time the blower resistor is the culprit.. Napa can get it for you.. Should be around $22.. The part number is ECH BR286..

Where is the blower resistor located?

It's located on the passenger's side near the blower motor... Kind of where your right foot would be if you sit in the passenger's side of the truck.. It looks like this..

Alright...Thanks for all the help. I'll go pick one up soon and see if a new one helps. If not I'll be back!

Well I got this resistor changed and it works on all fan speed settings but it will only blow air by the windsheild even if i have it on a/c, panel, and all those other ones... would this mean i have to replace the switch?

There should be a vacuum line going into the inside of the truck near the battery. The blend doors are vacuum actuated.. There are a few solenoids for the emission system there as well.. Make sure you have vacuum there at the one line that tucks through the firewall..

Well I found the vacuum line you were talking about and I wiggled it and a few other hoses and wires around and everything seemed to be where it was supposed to be, got in the truck and there was nice cool air blowing on all settings....thanks a lot for all the help!
