Overheating 6.0

Its been pretty hot here in cal. And i've never had an over heating problem before. It seems to be intermittent. Any ideas? it hasent puked any coolant Im just going by gauge.

2006 f350 cc
approx. 48,000 miles

Your fan should have kicked in well before the temperature went high. If the fan is not coming on, I would look at it first.

If there is a visible level in the degas tank the coolant level is probably OK.

Not towing just driving around town and on freeway, coolant level looks o.k.

if your head gasket aint blown and your coolant level is fine maybe your water pump is clogged or your oil cooler from debris like sand from the casting...

Possibilities:
bad coolant temp sensor
plugged air side of radiator
water pump cracked fins
bad thermostat

I assume you are still on the original coolant charge?
