New DP, 5" exaust with 6" stainless tip Sounds great no cat no muffler! Tymar intake for some bling ha! Superchips micro tuner feels good
SOON TO COME stage II's, tony wildman or dp tuner, Big oil and a pillar gauges EGT's and Boost maybe new fuel system.
I got my braided one from Dale at Tymar.........like 3 years ago. This is the second truck it's been on and it doesn't even have oil around the fittings.
Here's the thing about HPX lines. There are 2 types of failures.
1. Failure to inspect and maintain it... i.e Check the fittings for snug, and oil leaks during a routine oil change, or fuel filter change.
2. Catastrophic failure where it pops and drains your motor possibly starting a fire on the turbo.
In the first example, failure could be avoided by paying attention. If you drive the crap out of your truck and service it like a quick lube place, you deserve the failure, and had no business modifying your truck in the first place.....period. If you see a leak, or loose fitting, persue it. Tighten fitting, check for leak. If it doesn't stop, replace it. Pretty simple.
The second example is in my opinion a rare occurance. Can it happen, YES. But you pretty much accept that risk when you start on your PMS journey.
And all this is just my opinion on the HPX.
There are benifits to both solid and braided lines
Hard line, most likely will never pop. But it's suseptible to leaks from the natural heating and cooling of the motor. When you tighten those fittings, there's no play except for the bending of the tube. However minimal that is, it still happens.
The braided, can flex with heat and motor vibration, but can pop.
The bottom line is that if you stay on top of maintenance, and make it part of your checklist, you shouldn't have a problem. If you don't, it ain't the parts fault.
Hope that helps in some crazy way. LOL

Good bye No.3 I'll miss you.
I have the solid one and love it. In my opinion about the heating and cooling of the solid line...: It has several bends in it to go around the y-pipe and by the turbo pedestal. Therefore if there is even a slight bit of expansion the bends will allow it to expand and contract. Alot like steam lines at a plant.
Well in theory, the best way for the HPX is connecting the rear most ports?, but in the drivers side is almost impossible, so you choose the next want in front in that side, and thats the case in the TYMAR HPX, and not in the case of the solid one; other advantage IMHO of the Tymar is that you change the 90* elbow fitting for one straigt one, when you move the stock oil line to the front. Maybe that doesnt mean to much and just theory but could be.
