Since it's our only rig now, the wife drives it everyday, and i drive it on the weekends. I'm looking for a mellow sound in city driving, but if i wanna get on it, i'll definitely notice. thanks for the input

I can hear our Flowmaster 50 SUV Delta Flow we have on our 5.4 Expedition half a parking lot down at Walmart. The Flowmaster 40 is much louder and more commanding, but after I heard it in an 05 Expedition, I believe it kills it as a family hauler, the noise in the cabin is just too much to enjoy family conversations if you ask me.

I need the same thing. I don't want to hear it on the freeway while cruising, only when I get on it.

Then the 50 Delta Flow is for you. Don't get the regular, get Delta Flow. It makes the sound much deeper and more authoritive. The 40 was too loud for me on cruising, especially on my 04, about 70mph is the loudest range, 2000 RPM. THat's the point where interior noise is the loudest. Then you get to 4500RPM and that's where the engine sounds the meanest. If I get on it hard and make it rev to 4,500 RPM, I can be heard in my area of the neighborhood.

You wouldn't have any sound/video clips of your exhaust would you?

That would be very cool. I'll be watching the board tonight for that clip. I know someone on here has/had the Magnaflow complete cat back. I thought they said they didn't see much change in power but they liked the sound. Have you folks with the flowmasters seen any kind of increase in power...via the butt dyno? How about gas milage...after the fun of nailing it has worn off?
