I am looking to buy a Ford 3/4 ton 4x4 that has the V10. I have read nothing but good things when they are compared to a daily driver such as a diesel. We do some camping and pull a 35ft. fifth wheel. Just wanted to know if any year model is better than the other when it coomes to the V10. Thanks.
For the most pulling power any 05+ is a good choice. Nothing wrong with pre-05 trucks of course. It's just the 05+ has a 362hp/452lbft engine versus the pre-05's 310/425.
Look for one, no matter what year, with a 4.30 rear end.

Our 2008 V10 has the 4.30s. I should've got them in our 2007. It's only like a $50 option to upgrade over the standard 4.10s ('05-current models). A '99-'04 V10 with standard 3.73s would pull well, but 4.30s would be a better choice. It would be nice if Ford offered those 4.88s that come standard in the F-450&F-550 chassis cabs for V10 pickups. I wonder if a 4.88:1-geared V10 3v pickup would pull well.....with 17" tires?
I was laughed at when I bought my V10 over a year ago now I am laughing at the "other guys" that have parked their trucks because of fuel cost. I have an 01 F250, and love it. Wish the gearing was deeper. I tow a 18' car trailer for off-roading and just put air bags on the rear. It does fine going down the road
