Fitch Fuel Catalist- 1-2 mpg's better?

Has anyone used the Fitch Fuel Catalist kit that is being sold from Summit Racing? I saw them on the Trucks TV on Spike one weekend while watching the powerblock. If anyone out there has used this unit, let us know how it works. With gas going up daily and their claim to save 1-1.5 mpg for 250,000 miles sounds pretty good. At the rate i am going I figured i would have to drive 700-800 miles to pay for the thing. Thats only a few weeks.

They are going on Summit's website for $150- $175. Let us know what engine you are running so we can compare to what we have. I am more interested in knowing the effects on a 2V 5.4 but i also want to know if they are improving deisel mpg also.

The units look fairly easy to install, not much more than a fuel filter change (on a gas engine). True?

Thanks

rugermack is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
I saw that show too, the Dodge was getting 20.4 mpg before but I never caught the show the next week. I went to the Fitch website and they claim 1-2.5 mpg increase. $297 for my 7.3. I would like to hear some opinions on this.

I've been considering the Fitch Catalyst, too. There doesn't seem to be much "real life" info available that's not either in a paid advertisement or published by a media that runs on funds from advertising sponsors. And the shows that featured it only figured mileage over a very short distance/time. I need some good, verifiable information before I put my money down. I've seen too much "snake oil" over the years.

how did you figure how long it would take to pay for it?

I figured that if i get 16 and go to 18, and gas at $3.50 it would take 10,000 miles to pay for itself. Not that that is bad, those same figures would mean you would save $6000.00 over th last 240,000 miles.

If the way i am figuring is correct.

I would like to pay for it in less miles, so if anyone figiures it differant let me know, i have about 3000 mile trip coming up, and if it would pay for itself in those miles i might try one, as i have pretty good mpg from the drive out and can compare the drive home.

Fitch Fuel Catalyst is a scam. Do a search on it.
