Question Flowmaster super 44

Was looking around on Ebay and theres a seller that goes by Magnumexhaust and he has the Super 44 kit for $166.99 and for $20.00 more you can get mandrel bent pipe.
eBay Motors: Ford F150/250 Dual Exhaust Sys w/Flowmaster Super 44 (item 200223918106 end time May-23-08 13:15:36 PDT)

Has anyone bought one of these or what is your opinion on this kit?

Although I dont have the Kit I do have the Super 44 muffler and 4 inch SS tip (rolled edge) with 3 inch in and 3 inch out single/ Si/So set-up, total at muffler shop $210 thats install and the Stainless chrome rolled edge tip too. I get the rumble I wanted and some hp- torque pick-up nothing major, but you can tell, tranny shifts smoother, you have dont have to put your foot in it real hard to hear it either, it nice and deep toned at all acceleration (RPM's) wish I had a 3.73 rear, off the line will be so much better, as I have the 3.55 rear gears but still nice though, it 2WD F-150 so thats why no 3.73, guess I could change if need be. I like the Super 44 it sound good with the 5.4L as I have, so dont know on the 4.6L. It Friday so heres to ya....

Crapmasters are cheap for a reason. They are loud and obnoxious. I hear their SUV mufflers arent' too bad, but the 40 series mufflers are annoying and have a wicked drone at highways speeds.

My Durango has a Super 44 right now (bought it with already installed) and as soon as I get $400 to spare, I'm going to ditch that POS muffler and run a custom Magnaflow setup. At 55-60 mph I have a pretty bad drone that makes trim pieces rattle

I dont mind it as theres really nothing "real loud" as my truck has the 4 stock cats which absorbs most of the sound anyways, The drone isn't real bad as mentioned, Gotta remember Ford's 5.4L is the most quiet engine in the market of 1/2 tons of course the Dodge was louder, can't really compare the 2! Flowmaster is a trusted name and there mufflers sound good on these Ford V8's. I had the 50 series not the SUV, and I could not hear the engine unless I hit the gas pedal hard--with gas prices the way they are and I wanted more SOUND...was told about the quietness of the 4 cats inplace might as well go for the Super 44. Iam glad I made my decision on a Flowmaster. I now have 1+MPG gain because I can hear the engine RUMBLE with out putting my foot in it to hear it like the othe quiet exhausts like magnaflow. If Magnaflow comes out with a deep toned muffler with good rumble I may swap but there to quiet right now, when they do I buy a straight through without chambers.

Crap Nevermind. I got the 40's. I always get them confused. I like them and don't have any highway drone though.

I agree with steel horse. With 4 stock cats, it don't get very loud. I have the S40, I don't think its loud at all. Its just real deep and kinda makes everything shake. (Things like loose change in the cup holder). I think mine is still to quiet, I am actually going to remove my rear 2 cats when I get a chance. Put it this way, If your like me and you want to hear your exhaust (while driving), go with flowmaster. Or if your like tylus for instance, dont really want to hear it and hate drone, then go with magnaflow. Think about it, if your going to pay $170+ for exhaust, wouldn't you want to hear it?

I actually love the way the Crapmaster while accelerating and when in 3rd and 4th gear. But once I hit that 55-60 mph zone, those damn things start rattling everything inside the cab. And boy are they loud. I set off car alarms in car lots and enclosed parking garages are quite obnoxious (the echoing gives me a headache)

My complaints are these:

1. horrible rattling droning at highway speeds
2. everybody and his brother has flowmaster mufflers. when I'm next to a Titan, Tundra, or Silverado, I want my truck to sound unique. No kidding, but my neighbor has a V-8 Armada with flowmasters, and you can't honestly tell the difference between his exhaust sound and mine. Same idle tones and virtually identical acceleration tones. Maybe it's just my locations, but I swear that every single exhaust shop in Hawaii uses Flowmaster only.

They do sound good. But there are better mufflers. I'm going to be switching to a Magnaflow Magnapack Dual In, Dual Out setup. Magnaflow has a disclaimer that they're the loudest they sell. I had them on my Mustang GT and they were awesome. I'm hoping the change from a 4.6 to 5.7, that the exhaust sounds just as good.

but, if you're going for loudness, you'll not find a better loud muffler than a flowmaster

here is a vid of my Hemi starting with a Single in, Dual out Super 44

I paid $470 for my Maggie SiDo on the F-150. I can hear it 100% of the time. It just fades into the background when you're maintaining speed. However, punch the gas or just mild acceleration and I can hear it just fine with the windows up and radio on

I decided to fork out the extra $$$ for a magnaflow 16614 set up. Liked that everything is stainless, plus its all shinny and stuff.

Can't wait till it gets here.
