Talking Permagrin Plus A Victory

Got the DP Tuner installed yesterday. All I can say is WOW. Went out for the first test drive and wound up following a Dodge Cummins on a two lane road headed for the highway. I thought "Well now, this could be interesting". The way he kept goosing it and blowing smoke plus the size of his exhaust I figured he was chipped. When we got to the stop sign there were zero cars coming. He stopped and turned into the right lane. I barely balked at the stop and turned into the left lane. As soon as he saw me getting into the left lane he jumped on it and I did the same. He had about a truck and a half on me but I pulled right on by. We were headed up a 4% grade and I just kept pulling on him. At 90 he was in the rear view about 4 truck lengths back. I looked at the Pyro gauge and let off. He kept his foot in it and went on by me without even glancing my way. That's OK, he knew he got beat. I'm 61 years old and that DP Tuner got me acting like a kid again. Felt good to beat that Dodge, especially considering I'm still running a cat and muffler and had the DP set on 80E. My 4" exhaust is still in the box sitting on the garage floor. That new exhaust is going on ASAP.

This was also the first drive with the JW VB. It certainly gives some firm shifts. Takes a little getting used to.

Well guys, I'm going to go get started on the exhaust. Hopefully I will get a little more boost and lower the EGT's a bit.

I hope to see that Dodge again and he hopes I don't. Chalk up another one for the PSD .

Now thats what I am talking about. You did a great PSD service to this forum. Seem like this stuff makes us older people have flashbacks of our childhood. Get the exhaust on and you will love the sound too.

I haven't hear of a better first run of the DP-TUNER then this.

COngrats Payson! That must've been a blast!
My DP should be showing up soon, I can't wait. I need you guys opinion, when the tuner shows up, I might be too busy to do the JW VB, do you think it would be alright to install the tuner a couple weeks before the VB?

I was told to install the VB before the DP. Something about the shifting will not be right without the VB.

Just take the time to put them both in, and be done with it.

You're right, I'll just try to have some patience and wait till I have time to do it all.
Sorry to Hi-Jack thread by the way

Heh, heh, heh, looks like a bunch of ya'll was waiting till I got mine and tried it, now all the cool kids are getting them one. Look back at how many in just the last few weeks. I know of 1 or 2 more that are being ordered today or Monday. Why, if this keeps up, we might want to rename this the DP forum. Or, maybe someone could start a DP-Tuner club or better yet, A Jody fan club. Either way, I'm in!!!

There is a DP fan Club and it meets once a year in Gatlinburg at Smokin. I got the T-shirt to prove it.
Congrats on being young again Payson.
