2001 e-150 problems!!!

i work at a chevy dealier... so please dont hold that against me. i have a 2001 ford e-150. had a code for egr system down stream tube and was running rough. replaced the egr valve cause carbon build up and the dpfe sensor. found the egr tube from the exhause down stream clogged. so replaced that too. still didnt run too good. than found a missfire in cylinder 6. replaced plugs and wires. still there. i put a snap-on scanner on and found that the dpfe sensor and all the egr system working. bank 2 sensor 1 o2s showing lean cause missfire on cylinder 6. it still studders on load with the egr vaccume nipple on. but when removed and plugged it runs perfect. i need some help! please

If you have vacuum at the EGR valve nipple while at idle, the EVR solenoid is passing vaccuum when it shouldn't.

First, disconnect the solenoid's electrical connector to see if the solenoid then stops passing vacuum. If it doesn't, the solenoid probably has junk built up inside and is sticking in a partially open position.

ok well i drove the van all last week. i didnt have a problem with it when the egr valve was plugged. my dad drove it today and when he started it it felt that it was running on 2 cylinders. i dont know what to do. i hate fords. lol. im gonna clean out the IAC and try that thing that projectSHO89 told me to try. its almest like a hidden miss and when the egr system works as it should just brings it to be present. HELP!!!

did more testing. i dont like working on cars if im not making money and its my dads so... i cleared the codes and took a vaccume line off the manifold and hooked the egr valve directly and it did not stall at idle. meaning that most of the ports are clogged in the intake manifold egr ports. causing my one cylinder 6 to misfire cause too much dead air is entering the one cylinder that is not clogged.

Did you check for pressure on cyl. 6. Also on the back of the engine there is a box that is the intake runner controler and there is small white clips that conect the rods that opperate the intake flutter valves. These clips get brittle and break and the rods fall off and the flutter valves stick open or closed. You could also have a bad coil pack.
