header gasket?

Im installing headers on my 89 single cab 250, it has a 460, i was told not use the gasket they give you. what is the best choice to use?

not no but hell no...that's what i did with mine and it's blown out 3 friggin times...get aluminum header gaskets...a bit pricey but well worth it...they won't leak.

The Mr Gasket Resusable Aluminum ones are the best. The ones that come with the headers are junk.

Absolutely, aluminium gaskets. I worked in a speed shop in NY for a few years. Saw a lotta guys come in for aluminum gaskets after friggen with the gaskest that come with the headers.
Also, be sure to use locktite, and retighten the bolts after a couple days. They almost always loosen after they heat up a few times. Instead of the hex head bolts that come with the headers, I always used round head bolts with the hex inside. Way easier to loosen and tighten without having to try to angle that damn box wrench in between everything.
Locktite everything. Just my opinion dude.
