We run several 99 and up Power Strokes at my work. The 99 F-550 started acting up three weeks ago like CPS problems and thats what the code reader said it was. Go to Ford for a -B CPS and it lasted two days. Ford -B CPS number 2 lasted 5 days. The mechanic is think'en I must have other problems so he calls the local diesel shop. They say they have had lots of -B CPS probs but have Delphi @ $60 that works. Delphi has been in truck for 2 weeks now with no probs. Not sure how all this relates to our OBS trucks, same CPS?? but kind of brings home some posts I have read about problems with them. Guess Ill hold off on a -B for my 97SD? Was wanting a spare in the glovebox.
I had similar issues with the new sensor. First lasted 24 hours, second started hiccuping 2 weeks. worked fine but still hiccuped every now and then. Put it in the glove box and put my spare in. Gonna try a new connector.
"hiccup" is exactly what the mech said his truck was doing, LOL. Sounds to me like a -B CPS prob unless he has wiring issues also, but then the Delphi has been OK for two weeks (fingers now crossed) Does the Delphi have a good rep in our motors?
hey, my truck has a bad new cps. the recall one. i wonder if they will make it right? i have to get one before i go to get it from trans shop tomorrow.

My spare has been in for months now. Not one problem!
They did for the one that only lasted 24 hours. I didn't go back for the second one. It takes them an hour to get the truck in and out and the second one they put in they cut the o-ring so I had an oil leak. Who knows maybe the o-ring was the issue to the hiccup as well.
