My horn sounds anemic....

It sounds like a horn from a 1990 aries k car. Do your factory horns sound weak too? My mustang has "dual" horns from the factory, meaning 2 seperate horns, I high and a low tone and the truck sounds like my mustang when one of the horns is out.

Well, maybe one of your horns is out! Difficult to reach, although you can see them just fine!

Some Rangers come with a standard single horn, some have an optional dual horn. What that really means is that Ford installed whatever was on hand at the time.

The horn(s) are mounted at the left front side of the truck, beneath the inner fender.

A degraded power or ground connection could cause a horn to sound "sick".

Nows a good excuse to head out to the junk yard. Mine sounded dead when I bought it, so I went out to the junk yard and got one out of an early 90s F150... If you can find one, the newer ford crossovers have horns that can be heard from miles away, grab one! I think it cost 10 bucks for a dual horn from the effie and a single from a 2000 ranger, JIC the dual wouldn't fit. It did.

I have a dual tone on my 02 and the Low tone went out. I went to Harbor Freight and picked up a Dual Air Horn for $20.
