Stock seat belts, length and color?

I'm restoring my 65 CC and wanting to put as close the original seat belts in there as I can....any suggestions on the right color, length and sources where they might be found?

The deluxe belts (color co-ordinated buckle) were the same as used on 1965 Mustangs.

I believe these have been reproduced.

Colors for the trucks, as I recall were black, blue, red, green and tan.

really...the only color Ive ever seen in a 65-6 truck of any version was always black with the black plastic lid you lifted to release...Ive seen the various colors though in 67 up trucks though...prolly the same ones as used in earlier rigs though I would venture to guess.

Seat belts were optional on F100/1100's prior to 1967, so whatever the dealer (who usually installed them) had in stock was used.

Black was commonly used, as you say, but I've seen (and passed out) the Mustang/Falcon/Fairlane type deluxe belts, as the belt length was correct for the trucks.

These seat belts did not come with a built in retractor like the later belts did. An optional dealer installed retractor was available and it has been reproduced by Dearborn Classics.

Most dealers back then carried the Mustang style belts. Seat belts (lap only) became standard equipment on all the cars beginning on 1/1/1966 (as part of the new Fed Safety Standards).

Shoulder belts were first offered as standard equipment on cars in 1968 (Fed Safety Std's again). Trucks (weren't subject to all the Fed laws) had them available in 1968 as an option.

No standard shoulder belts in trucks till the late 1970's.

1967 was the first year colors to match the interior were offered with a specific truck part number.

These belts were right/left specific (the earlier years were not), and will also be found in some earlier models.

wow, that helped me alot bill, i was just going to post a question on here about seat belts and weather or not they came with our trucks or if it was an after assembly option, and not required. and i think, that you answered my question.
