I'm going to cry!! Who owns most of the oil in the world that is being accessed right now? Who knocked down the World Trade Center? How well did that work for them? It is still killing them on a daily basis. They've figured out they don't have the brains, military power etc.etc. to defeat us in a military fashion. So they will do it the old fashioned way. If big oil were selling anything at the volume they're selling oil, it is going to make some money for them. But it can go the other way just as fast. Let's use Tootsie Pops as an example. Tootsie Pops pays $1.00 for the raw ingredients for one Tootsie Pop. Then every day they sell billions of Tootsie Pops around the world for $1.01 per Tootsie Pop. They're going to make millions of dollars every day. But sell that same Tootsie Pop for $.99 and they're going to lose millions of dollars a day. But the man supplying Tootsie Pops ingredients is still getting his $1.00 he is the one that is truly making all the money. Now Tootsie Pops owns their own raw ingredients, but some goofball that thinks he owns the country says Tootsie Pops has to buy it elsewhere and can't touch his own because there may be a bunny or something in the highway to the Tootsie Pop supply house.

The one accurate for thing in this post is the gov. gets paid!!! Yes they do, in the form of campaign contributions from environmental fools. Who by the way just put global warming on hold for 10 or 20 years after causing trillions of dollars in economic damage over the past 10 years.

one thing we have done for years is supported China and other countries economy who we now buy a large portion of everyday goods from
with this money they build more and more factories, roads to get to them and fuel to get people down those roads
now they need the fuel we need and use to have so the bidding process starts

something to thinkabout on you next trip to wally world who have played a part in driving the trade to third wourld countries

Do you grumble when their spending is going up at a faster rate too?

My prices are going up almost every time I make an order. My workers are contract labor, so I can keep from paying all the employee taxes. They have to pay their own taxes if they file.

Fuel surcharge is a killer. I have to pay over .80 cents per 50 lb sack for trucking. When you order 15 to 20 tons a week, you can figure that out. The price I have to charge for my gates, bunk feeders, water troughs, post, wire, fence, panels, well everything, is making people think twice about getting horses or cattle at this time.

Wish I could see the end of this.

Aklim There "is" Profiteering Going On Even You Have To Admit That. Only Consumers Benefit From More Refineries So What Incentives Do Oil Companys Have For Building More? Opec Is A Mf'er And I Would Love To Get Away From Them. Its Too Complicated To Sort Out Now, And We All Get Screwed. This Economy Is Gonna Be Tested Big Time And Its Very Scary!

My point is that they brought in 404 billion last year. Of which 40 billion is profit. That means they spent 364 billion. Kinda makes the profit around the 10-11%

Remove the Greenie Weenies and we can talk. What incentives do the oil companies have to build more? Well, they can sell more product at a lower price and have no heat. Best of all, it makes more profit. OTOH, we can't even drill in areas where Cuba can because of the Greenie Weenies. Let them take their hands off and let us build refineries and we can see who does what.

Again, that is after the CEOs multi-million dollar salaries and "donations" to all their advocates.

Even if under the belief of "what the market can bare", it sure doesn't look like it is doing it very well now. This is where you'd think people like gore would stop flying his old private jet and turn off the lights at some of his homes to practice what he preaches.

With the profits the oil companies are seeing, they are not in a hurry to build any new refineries. They blame gets passed around as advocates vote against it and big oil buys controlling interests in alternative fuels.

Most large companies are like that. Par for the course.

Why? He advocates, you follow. Nothing to do with him cutting back.

My point is that there are 2 basic ways to make profit. Higher profit per unit and lower quantity or lower profit per unit and higher quantity. If you make increasing the quantity harder, they will go with the easier way. Same as if the road had potholes and construction, I'd go the other way.
