..please! I've read up on the swap and am collecting the parts to do the DS swap on an '84 B-II with the 2.8... having problems finding the distributor adaptor .. Looking at doing the Holley 350 carb at the same time but ...
Any hints, tips or tricks? I've read up here, Rangerstation,Bronco II org etc ... Anything anyone has to say is welcomed...
Don't mean to be redundant but need some advice! I'm above a tire changer, usually have been able to figure out most stuff if it's bolted o the block but haven't rebuilt a carb in 20 years.
Get your adapter from NAPA they were the only parts store that actually carried them Checker, Autozone and a couple others couldn't even find a picture. Just make sure you have them do some research they will probably have to look it up in their book as it wasn't in the computer but they ordered it at about 2 o'clock and had it in by 5 o'clock that evening and I'm pretty sure it cost less than 10 bucks. I had them find the adapter for a '78 Mustang II with the Motorcraft distributor that was another problem I ran into was the other stores kept ordering parts for the Bosch. And your existing wires should work out fine for you since the spark plug wires I have are from an '84 Ranger and they work on the '78 2.8L well good luck if you haven't already figured everything out already.
Thx TJ .... I did find that NAPA can order it the adaptor in, all the rest is easy ... just on hold,, have it all stripped out, have that old disease known as lack-o-dough ,,,,
Did you use the Holley carb? Re-jet? How about linkages?
I've still got the stock 2150 carb from the '78 Mustang II. It's sitting in an '89 B2 so I managed to make my original throttle cable work until I decide to figure something out with a stock 2.8l B2 throttle cable. Mine is still in the works as of right now I took it for a drive on sunday for the first time in 6 years and I've got alot of kinks to work out but I like you I have that same disease right now. I swear this thing has more parts from more different vehicles then I have ever seen thank god for forums like this one to figure out what will fit.
I hear ya brother ...... I have all the wiring done, module in, coil and I'm hoping the dist this weekend and then I'm going to see if the stock 2150 will work out.
