I truly believe the newer ones (like mine, built in 2006) just have problems. I will buy another one just like it.
Sorry Paige you are not getting to enjoy your truck. There have been issues like you and Tom. Tom has a new V10 on order. Good luck to you.
Back to SDFordlover Are you going to be towing over 14k? If not a v10 might be a better choice. If you are going to be towing over 14k the 6.4 does a fantastic job. Couldn't be happier with mine. Except it does sit in the garage alot because of fuel prices. I bike to the gym and drive our Escape a lot. Planning on towing over 3,000 miles this summer. It is a great towing machine.

I am on a three month trip in Alaska with my Travel Trailer and 2008 F-250. So far I have been stranded for 9 days in Bellevue WA waiting for them to replace the High Pressure Fuel Pump Gasket now I am in Anchorage waiting for a new radiator to come torepalce the one that was leaking in Bellevue. The cab was off and it could have been replaced then but Ford's policy is "Do nothing unless forced to". Common sense and customer care is not one of Ford's concerns.
I guess what really bothers me most is that I owned an 04 6.0 that had every problem imaginable so I finally got rid of it to get this thing.
Will I ever learn.
If anyone from Ford reads this forum it would be interesting to see their opinion on my situation.

We have an early 08 in hard ambulance duty and we've only had the radiator leak thing. Over 20,000 hard miles and that's the only problem.

Paige hang in there! I have not commented on anything in awhile. But what drove me nuts, when I first started telling that my truck is junk all these other folks started saying
man my truck is great! yours can't be that bad! But you are very right alot of the early
trucks are junk. Ford has always rushed to get these trucks out and they did not know where the bolts went. nor did the diesel techs know anything about these trucks.

Hang in there and hold your own Ford has to help you cause they have to many people
suing them over these fine trucks

I have a build date of 5-19-08 on my new V10

My old truck I am still driving is a joke it runs different every day when it rains
it barely moves! hesitates, shutters, smokes. can't wait for this V10 turn the key and go.
These new diesels, you can't do this, you can't do that, don't, don't don't!
The old days (7.3) you put the key in and beat the hell out of it and it loved to be beat.
Buy a gasser till Ford figures this diesel out.

Got my Job 1 in Mar07. Only warranty work so far was a problem with the passenger seatbelt. 20k miles. Love the truck. Like anything else if you have a problem get your dealer to fix it. Buy from reaputable dealer.

Don't buy a 6.4!

That's why I bot one and here are my thoughts, from day one in December till today:

Other pickup trucks say why,
This truck says, why not.
Competing engines try to compare,
The 6.4 PSD offers 350 HP dare!
Gorgeous, imposing, ostentatious & grand,
When this 350 arrives, so does the big band.
Feel like taking this truck, in the rough,
Do it, Cause you know it’s built Ford tough!

JUST KIDDING. LIKE A BARELL OF APPLES, there will always be a bad one. Like most of us, the guys with the bad ones, make more noise that us guys with the good ones!

Well I guess I'm one of those "nothing wrong with mine" guys. With that said..

I've got 12K with not one issue..I tow and carry my Lance and plow snow..I don't beat on em..I work em the way they were designed for and never had a major issue with any of my trucks or anything for that matter.

super quiet and fast as hell. Best thing is it carrys my Lance much better then the previous SuperDutys I've had..they have done well with this one. I forgot to mention how nice the ride is.

i dont have a 6.4 i got a 01 7.3, as i tell people no matter what engine you buy depending on how you took care of it, it will last a lifetime, i got an 80 f-100 my family bought new and all the powertrain is still original and goes no matter what, it hasnt broke down one time since i have had it, The thing you would have to realize on the 6.4 is if an egr cooler goes you can loose all the water and it will not tell you and the same on the 6.0, if you keep a new one up and maintained it should give you no problems

I am looking at a 6.4 now also

I am coming out of a 94 GMC YUKON with the 6.5 diesel... generally a GOOD truck. I found an F350 Lariat LOADED with options and 25000 miles (April 07 build date). Did Ford have the 6.4 issues under control by the time this truck was built? Does anyone have any idea how many service bulletins are out or where that info can be found? These forums are me nervous about this configuration...Thanks and regards..Joe

If you give the vin, you can get an oasis ran, and that will tell how many warranty repairs it had done.

This sounds like 300% bull*****.

Sounds like your contact has not visited the clue fairy yet.

The 6.4's are VERY reliable. If you get one, I am sure you'll be quite pleased.
