'99 F150 4.2l Cat & Acc Pwr

I have a cat that you can hear the insides rattling around on the pass side. I know that both on that side has to get replace together. Should I replace all 4 too? Found them on-line for $494, local shop wants $1403 parts and labor to replace and I'd still have to replace the rest of the pipe, muffler and tailpipe. I read somewhere once that one reason they break is because of fuel mixture is not correct. Could it be that too or just age? Truck runs good.

Also, my cig lighter and access. plug kept blowing the fuse. I tried getting my codes pulled at advance (due to bad o2 sensor) but they couldn't read from the obd connector. Found out in the book last night that the obd conn and cig lighter uses the same fuse. I replaced the cig lighter, access. plug and put in a new fuse. Cig light works, will have to see if the obd conn works now, but the access. plug still dosen't. Any clue as to where/what to look for to get it to work again?

The guys at advance told me that if they cannot read from the obd conn that the trucks computer is going bad. Have a hard time believing that. Any and all suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks for your time.

Thanks for the reply. After searching the net and calling several places, ended up buying a set for $635 with shipping. Was the best price I found and it had all 4 o2 sensor "ports". Several places I called that had better prices only had 1 o2 per side. Will see about putting them in myself, then taking to a shop to replace the rest of the pipe and muffler. My right side is pretty busted up right now, bad wrist and knee but I can't see paying someone $800 to install, didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday, lol. Didn't think about recycling the old cats, wonder if there's a place around me I could take'em too.

Still need to figure out the elec. problem. Better half got the GPS she wanted for mothers day but can't run it yet, so this is high on the priorty list. Gotta keep her happy so no complants about my toys, lol.

Have a good day.

update:
new cats installed today with 4 new o2's

pulled codes:
egr insucf. flow (replaced last year)
lean on bank duct 1 & 2
misfire #1 (plugs and wires replace last year)

any ideas as to where to turn now?

With everything replaced today, do I need to clear codes or will it reset after so many times trips.

The accessory port is on a different fuse, under the hood. It's in your owner's manual.
