Excursion Suspension Upgrades

Everyone,

I have been watching here for a little while, bought a 2001 X -V10 about a month ago. Mine has some wander - does not sound as bad as others, but not right either. So far, I have ordered new shocks (not on yet), installed RAS on the back, and installed U-code equivalent aftermarket springs on the front. I do not have a factory sway bar. I just finished the front springs last night - what a job, but also what an improvement! Test drive felt GOOD. My problem is that all four wheel wells are now pretty much level all at 40 1/2" +/- 1/4". However, it does not look level - it looks like the front is higher. My first though was to put on the rear taperd 250 blocks that Stewart has mentioned a number of times. I think that will put me where i need ot be height-wise, but am I creating a problem with leverage seeing as I still have my stock rear springs (albeit with the RAS)? I am hoping not to have to swap out the rears too at this point. Anyone else have any other bright ideas?

Thanks,

Casey

Can't you increase the RAS rate to raise the rear?

You should measure height off frame points since the wheel well opening front to rear are no at the same height on the body. That's why it looks "off" to you.

Ken,

I probably could ratchet up the RAS, but they give you a set procedure for adjusting it with an explicit warning to not exceed the specified tension. The frame isn't straight (flat) so how do you measure this way?

oh...that's right. Guess I was thinking for side-to-side comparisons.

I put a 6" Pro-Comp lift kit in my 2000 V-10 Ex and I have the same look it looks like it's sagging in the back like a loaded diaper. I going to put bigger springs. As far as measuring it use the pinch welds or body line.
