"big" y- block
I'm sure you have a 1963 casting. In '63, I believe the only "y's" that Ford cast were for the truck series: F, P (parcel delivery), others that escape me at the moment). If I'm right, you've got a 292 because that's the only y-block engine offered in those series that year. Ford also used them for industrial engines in that year as well. It was the next-to-last year for the Y in the US.

If the rear of the crank is perfectly round with no crescent you have the sought after forged crank. It was only available in the larger trucks 61-4.
Stock torque for a 63 was 279 ft/lbs & 170hp
Best of the 292's was 57-8 @ 297 ft/lbs & 212hp
After 59 Ford detuned the 292 every year with small valves and cam specs. The performance engine was the FE and they didnt want the Y to compete.
With a little work the Y will put out serious power.
