85 f150, 5.0 FI trouble starting when hot.

My f150 starts with the 1st turn of the key when the engine is cool. But after it runs a while and you stop at a store to get your favorite beverage then go out to restart it takes several times for the engine to start. the engine turns normally it just does not turn over. We have new plugs, wires, cap / rotor. Also new fuel filters and fuel pump. THe truck also does not run well when it is hot.

In a old post someone mentioned the igniton control module? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Always pull the codes first on the fuel injected engine.

Can you rent something that pulls the codes or take it to a parts store for them to pull?

Thanks

I noticed mine yesterday when I was driving it for a while I turned it off to go inside a store and came back out and it turned over really slow but still started. (kinda like a dead battery) but my battery is brand new.

You can take it to the parts store, buy a cheapy code reader(yours takes the cheap one, 96-up takes the expensive one) or you can just use a testlight or voltmeter to read the codes for free(If you have a testlight or voltmeter). This site tells you how to use the testlight or voltmeter. Ford Fuel Injection They call reading the codes a "self-test"
