Gas tank removal

The hose from the filling nozzle to the gas tank has another hose inside it. I got the gas tank part way out to change the fuel pump but seems the smaller diameter hose is not comming out. Can I use more force or am I missing something here?

I'm sorry i don't really know the answer to your question but I just wanted to remind you to always disconnect the battery before you remove the tank or pump. Got into trouble one time with this.

Thanks

In all my trouble shooting trying to figure out the how I did forget to disconnect. Part way through I thought it would be a good idea. What trouble did you have?
PS: got the tank out, the little hose was hung up inside the tank.
