Question Door slam to close.

On my '60 f100, the only way to fully latch the doors is to slam them closed. If I close them like a normal car door, they close only half way. I've tried adjusting and cleaning the striker plate only to find it harder to close or barely easier. Any advice?

You probably need to adjust the hinges. The bolts that hold the hinges to the body can move the door in or out. The bolts that hold the hinges to the door can move the door forwards and backwards.

Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow. The slamming of car doors make me cringe, especially when I have to do it.

Might want to try another lock assy, might be as simple as a striker adjustment. If the lock turns out to be the culprit, and you can live with that, so be it. I'd consider a bear-claw set though.
