15x8 is my setup, if they werent so wide i wouldnt have had to go with such a small tire. 235/60/15 front 275/60/15 back
when i had the guy alighn the truck the guy didnt mess with the camber, the toe was way out and caster, he didnt mess with the camber bushing he had it all in the green and my tires were the same way /----\. but after adjusting they were nice and straight.
he told me if i had any problems come back and he would adjust the bushing but it has been riding great
I have had alot of problems with alighnment shops they hate lowered trucks, youll hear alot of somebody tampered with the suspension, no crap i did, let them know how you did it. if you have a sears near you, you could try that they have a special package to do supension modified vechiles but keep trying around cause there alighnments are like 100 something but i had to on my s10 lowered 4" "Rest In Peace".
This guy thats going to align mine knows what hes doing and he knows how I lowered my truck. He was really nice. Wonder why your wheels are fitting in the fender wells and mine arnt... Maybe different offset.

they dont fit, thats why the tire are so small. they dont rub after the alighnmet unless i go hardcore in a turn, this weekend i took some trash to the junk yard and i rubed the back tires just about the whole way,
next plan get air bagsin back to support loads, and get a sway bar for the front to keep the truck from rolling so much in turns
i know your having a hard time with this but were pretty much leaders in lowering this style of truck so all our post will be usefull to others when they decide to take on this project.

ooooo ok cool
Thinking 215/60/15s front. Are your rears too big? If they arnt i would like 275s. If they are I guess ill do 255/60/15s

i think the 275 are perfect you have enough clearence but when you add weight thats when you will have problems 215 sounds kinda small i would have done 245 but i already had a 235 so i just bought one new one
Tire size calculator
check this out get some measurment and see whats best for your truck
OK so I saw that I can get 4 new cheaper wheels(cragars) for LESS then 2 new American Racing outlaw IIs. What backspacing do I get? they will be 15x7s. Then after I get the wheels ill go to pep boys and get the Futura super sport GLS tires 215/60/15 fronts and 255/60/15 rears. Hopefully that will cure my problems..if not im S.O.L.
255/60/15 is a 255mm wide tire. That tire will be approx 10 inches wide at the tread. I would get a 8 inch wheel for the rear.
Backspacing; I would take one of your wheels off you have now, and measure the backspacing. MAKE SURE YOU EYEBALL THE BRAKE AND SPINDLE CLEARANCE BEFORE YOU TAKE THE WHEEL OFF. If you have room between the caliper/brake system and the rim you have now, you can add a little backspacing + being 1inch narrower, should give you a little bit more room.
Also you keep wondering why the other guy does not have as much rubbing problem. Look how much shorter his sidewall is compared to yours on the front.

He just said that he has the same size wheels as me so Im thinking im just going to get smaller tires. He also said 275/60s on back is ok until I add weight and I never put anything in the back on my truck besides fishin poles and nothing heavy. Ill most likely do 255/60/15s in back and 235/60/15s in front to be save.
Anyone know where they sell Kelly tires?
Thanks everyone for the help. It wont let me give yall rep points again though

I suddenly am interested in a 1970 pickup, and was messing around in that forum. I discovered a thread where they are putting 2003-up front suspensions from a crown vic in these old trucks. One guy claimed that it would fit trucks all the way up to 1996. This is a very neat way to get a modern suspension, rack and pinion steering, and lower the truck all the at the same time, and not too expensive. I know this is a little late for you guys who bought the lowering beams, but I thought I would stick it in here for reference. Here's a link to the thread. http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/71...o-67-f100.html

I was reading that post the other day. Really cool. I might look into it later on down the road. Thinking about bagging it now
