88 F-150 302 stator

I am replacing the stator (some call it a pick-up coil) in the distributor on my 88 F-150 302 w/ fuel injecton. Is it possible to replace this part without removing the distributor? I can see it, but there is a plate that appears to be pressed on the distributor shaft that is in my way.

Thanks

No, you have to remove the distributor and dis-assemble it.
