factory shocks verses gas shocks?

I priced some shocks for my 2000 sc 4x4 f150. Factory replacements were around 25 dollars each and premium gas shocks were around 50 dollars each which means a set of premium gas shocks will be around 100 dollars more or twice as much as factory replacements. My question is...are they worth it? Will gas shocks last twice as long as regular shocks or is the higher price due to a better ride and if so, can you actually tell the difference?

Wink Factory vs gas shocks...

You will certainly feel the difference between the aftermarket gas shocks compared to OE models. Your wallet will also feel the difference!

Whether it's worth it is YOUR choice!

OEM shocks are gas shocks. & have been for years on Fords. My 90 Ranger came with gas shocks. You can go to NAPA and buy gas shocks for $25 ea. Heck Rancho 5000 are only around $40 ea.
