Thinkin about hood vents

I am thinkin about putting two vents in my hood to help get rid of the heat better when I am off road. Anyone else done this? I know I may be askin a bit much but can anyone tell me or show me what the underside of the hood looks like so I don't have to pull off the heat shield/blanket? I am guessing that I can place the vents on either side of the hood and centered.
Any info will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Army,
There are substantial crossbraces under there. You're going to need a good picture and measurements to miss them.

Guess instead of hoping someone here would do the work for me...the right thing to do would be to get off my lazy butt and go look at my hood myself!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info 5.0B2!!!
I appreciate it!

Just cut the inner fender shirts two inches, that would be more effective then hood scoops, much cheaper, and not dump hot air into the cowl area to be sucked into the cab.

I was just thinking that hood vents would allow the heat get away from the engine faster. I do have gaps at the inner fender due to my body lift. I hadn't considered that the heat could/would be drawn back into the engine area.

Thanks for the info Rebocardo!

I meant the cowl area where the windshield wipers are located, that feed the A/C and heater system (even when the fan is off). fwiw.

Think about a set of these I think they look sweet and you can put them on yourself, also you dont have to paint the fricken thing when your done, like a cowl hood
